I was born in Charleston, SC and graduated from Bishop England High School. I graduated from the College of Charleston in 1989 with my bachelor’s degree.

Outside of work, I enjoy hunting, fishing, surfing, farming, and spending time with my family. I am a former president of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers Association of Charleston and a current board member of the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of South Carolina. I am an active member of the South Carolina Society, the St. Andrews Society, and the East Cooper Outboard Motor Club. I have also served as a volunteer firefighter with the Mt. Pleasant Fire Department since 1986.

I began my professional career with C. T. Lowndes & Company while studying at the College of Charleston, working part-time as an insurance producer. I became a part-owner of C. T. Lowndes & Company in 1986, the second generation of the Silcox family to own and operate the agency alongside the sixth generation of the Lowndes family.

I became the chief operations officer in October 2009, taking over the day-to-day operations of the agency. I took over the role of CEO from Henry Lowndes on February 1, 2017, and currently hold the positions of CEO and COO at C. T. Lowndes & Company, the Insurance Agency of Choice, since 1850.
