I grew up in “The Town of Friendly People” of St. George, SC. My father was the police chief, and my mother ran the family restaurant, the Dixie Diner. After graduating from St. George High School, I spent four years in the U.S. Air Force and then attended Baptist College at Charleston (now Charleston Southern University). I married my wife, Gwen, after graduating from college. We have two children, two grandchildren Ella and Jack, and two cocker spaniels.

I enjoy hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and any sports outside of work, especially football. I also love helping and being active in the community. I am active in the rotary club, Sertoma, the SC Jaycees, and several other organizations. I was president of the Berkeley High School Athletic Booster club for five years (1999 – 2003) and continue to do what I can to help them. My wife and I are members of the Moncks Corner United Methodist Church, and I sing bass in the choir.

I have been in the insurance industry since 1971. I have experience in all lines of personal and commercial insurance. I was the agency manager of Berkeley County Farm Bureau Insurance for 25 years before joining C. T. Lowndes & Company. I enjoy working with people and taking care of their insurance needs, providing them with security and protection.
